Alhaji Said Sinare, Chairman of the Zongo Working Committee for the opposition (NDC), has confidently predicted that the party will secure an overwhelming majority of votes in Zongo communities across the country during the December 2024 general elections. Speaking in an interview on the Citizen's Show, hosted by Nana Bobie Ansah on Accra 100.5 FM on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, Alhaji Sinare projected that the NDC will capture 80 to 90 percent of the Zongo votes. Alhaji Sinare dismissed the influence of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Presidential Candidate, within the Zongo communities, questioning his Muslim identity and consistency. He emphasized that the NDC has maintained a strong bond with the Zongo communities since the era of the party's founder, the late Jerry John Rawlings, and argued that the NPP's record of economic mismanagement has left these communities disillusioned.
