President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama for his refusal to debate Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer.
According to Akufo-Addo, Mahama's claim that he "won't stoop low" for a debate with Bawumia is baseless and reflects his position as a "one-term president." The criticism follows Mahama's repeated refusals to engage in a public debate with Bawumia, fueling speculation that he may be dismissive of Bawumia's capacity to discuss policy and governance issues.
Akufo-Addo argued that Mahama's reluctance to debate stems from his one-term tenure and the political implications it carries. "I have heard Mahama say that he is not ready to debate Bawumia today or tomorrow because Bawumia is not in his class.
