Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has assured Mr Leonardo Santos Simao, the United Nations Secretary General's Special Representative and Head of the UN Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS) of his personal and the government's commitment to ensuring the peace before, during and after the December 7 polls.
Dr Bawumia on Tuesday, October 29 welcomed Mr Leonardo Santos Simao to the Jubilee House.Dr Bawumia said Ghana and the UN System have always had very good relations. "I also expressed confidence in the institutions mandated to ensure a conducive environment for the polls, evidenced by their track records."Mr Simao pledged the support of the UN to Ghana's continued growth and development," he wrote on Facebook.
