Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday Octoer 29 welcomed Mr Leonardo Santos Simao, the United Nations Secretary General's Special Representative and Head of the UN Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS) to the Jubilee House.Dr Bawumia said Ghana and the UN System have always had very good relations.During discussions, Dr Bawumia assured Mr Simao of his personal and the Government's commitment to ensuring the peace before, during and after the December 7 polls."I also expressed confidence in the institutions mandated to ensure a conducive environment for the polls, evidenced by their track records."Mr Simao pledged the support of the UN to Ghana's continued growth and development," he wrote on Facebook.
