Hon Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Majority Leader of Parliament representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has addressed the tension brewing between his party and Cynthia Mamle Morrison, the current Member of Parliament(MP) for Agona West.

Madam Cynthia Morrison, known for her commitment to her constituency, has taken an independent stand in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Her decision to run independently, though surprising, reflects her desire to continue serving her community, even if it means stepping outside party lines.

In an interview on Okay FM mintored by MyNewsGH.com, Afenyo-Markin shared his thoughts on the situation, urging Morrison and party supporters to consider the consequences of actions "taken in the heat of the moment." Acknowledging the significance of her work, he expressed that the NPP still recognizes Morrison's contributions, even as she diverges from the party's path. "We want this matter to be resolved peacefully," he remarked, underscoring the party's respect for Morrison despite their current differences.
