Following the sudden passing of Akua Donkor, founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), more details have emerged regarding the cause of her death. The veteran politician, known for her advocacy for farmers and women's rights, succumbed to respiratory complications after being referred from Nsawam Hospital to Ridge Hospital in Accra.According to Ernest Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Adakabre and Akua Donkor's running mate in the 2020 presidential election, the politician was initially diagnosed with respiratory issues at Nsawam Hospital.
During an appearance on TV3 New Day, Adakabre disclosed that Akua Donkor's condition required further attention, leading to her transfer to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, commonly known as Ridge Hospital.
Sadly, she passed away shortly after 10 PM on Monday, October 28, 2024.
