The Member of Parliament (MP) for Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency, John Abdulai Jinapor has disclosed that Ghana's Energy Sector is at the verge of collapse.
During an interview on Joy News monitored by MyNewsGh.com, John Jinapor disclosed how some revenues collected were not account for and could not be traced, adding that that the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) emphasized in their report that the monies could not be accounted for. "ECG made a significant collection of revenue based on that revenue drive but if you read the PURC report, they indicated that the money did not come through the cash waterfall mechanism.
So it means the money was not accounted for, the money can't be traced, and we cannot tell how the money was used." He claimed.
John Jinapor further disclosed that the former ECG MD Mahama Dubik indicated that the Finance Minister directed him to procure some light crude oil outside the remit of the cash waterfall mechanism which created a huge problem.
