The Executive Director of the Good Governance Advocacy Group Ghana (GGAGG), Listowel Nana Kusi-Poku, has alleged an assassination attempt on Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, the Paramount Chief of Kwahu.
Speaking in an interview on Accra FM on October 23, 2024, Kusi-Poku connected the assassination attempt and recent attacks against the paramount chief to a prominent politician in the country, whom he claimed has been meddling in the chieftaincy issues of Kwahu.
He indicated that the chief's removal from his position as the board chairman of the Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB) was orchestrated by politicians who wanted him out.
He stated that leading figures in government, including the said politician, intended to collapse the bank to purchase it at a very low price, but the chief's refusal to comply has become his downfall.
