The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has officially rescinded its contract with Yasarko Printing Press Limited, initially designated to produce presidential and parliamentary ballot papers for the Oti and Western North regions for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
The decision, formalized in an October 25 press release, appoints Buck Press Limited and Acts Commercials Limited to undertake the printing for Oti and Western North, respectively.
This adjustment comes as the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) raised significant concerns over the transparency and reliability of the initial arrangement.
The NDC voiced doubts about Yasarko Printing Press's ability to impartially manage such a sensitive task and called on the EC to guarantee the integrity of the ballot production process.
