A new Afrobarometer report reveals that honesty, character, and campaign promises are the top factors that will shape Ghanaian voter choices in the 2024 elections, with 90% of respondents prioritizing a candidate's honesty, 88% emphasizing character, and 59% considering campaign promises.
This data underscores a preference for integrity and personality over mere political pledges among Ghanaian voters.
The report also highlights a notable level of trust in institutions like the Ghana Armed Forces, religious leaders, traditional leaders, and civil society organizations, ranking them as the most trusted entities.
In contrast, trust in state institutions such as the police, the presidency, tax officials, Members of Parliament (MPs), and the judiciary continues to decline, particularly compared to 2012 levels.
