The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, has, by Executive Instrument, imposed a curfew on Sampa Township in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region.

The curfew, which starts from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am each day, is effective from Thursday, October 24, 2024, until further notice, according to a statement by the Interior Ministry.

The minister acted on the advice of the Bono Regional Security Council to impose the curfew following chieftaincy disputes in the area.

The government in a statement has urged chiefs, opinion leaders, youth, and residents of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their grievances to ensure peace in the area.
