The National Labour Commission (NLC) has ordered the Public Services Workers Union (PSWU) to halt its ongoing strike immediately.
This decision, announced on October 23, 2024, follows discussions between the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) and the PSWU at the NLC headquarters.
The NLC's intervention came after PSWU issued a strike notice on October 14, 2024, citing unresolved negotiations over two institution-specific allowances for its members.
With the strike initially set to begin on October 21, the NLC sought to mediate the dispute, summoning representatives from the FWSC, the Ministry of Employment, Labour Relations and Pensions (MELRP), and the Ministry of Finance.
