Authorities in Nkotompo, a community in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region have launched an investigation into reports of a young mother allegedly selling her two-week-old baby for GH¢300, according to 3news.com report.
According to the report, the accused mother, identified as 35-year-old Mena Efua, reportedly handed over her newborn to an unknown individual who promised to secure a buyer.
Her elder sister, Maame Esi, is reported to have revealed this information during an interview with Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, host of Connect FM's Omanbapa Morning Show.
Maame Esi, who assisted in the baby's delivery at home a few weeks ago, says the child's sudden disappearance raised suspicions. "I helped her deliver at home just last Monday, and now the baby is missing.
