The Ada West District Assembly has imposed a ban on the sharing of food and drinks at social events in a bid to curb the spread of cholera in the area.
This decision comes after over 200 people were admitted to various health facilities in the district due to a cholera outbreak.
According to the District Chief Executive, Sampson Tetteh, social gatherings have been identified as the primary source of cholera transmission, prompting the assembly to enforce the ban as a preventive measure. "We have also decided that the funerals within our districts should go by the one-meter distance system where you don't come close to each other.
