Ghanaian highlife star Kuami Eugene has disclosed that he continues to face criticism for his feature on Sarkodie's 2020 hit song Happy Day.

Speaking with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, the award-winning crooner revealed that the song, which stirred political controversies during its release, has caused ongoing discontent from some fans. "I am still suffering for that [feature].

I don't know what conversation sparked the fact that it should be Kuami Eugene, and after I did the chorus from the first verse I heard from senior man (Sarkodie), it ended up that way," he explained.

Kuami Eugene noted that after providing the chorus, the song took a different direction, becoming widely perceived as a political endorsement."I have to explain myself for the rest of my life that I am not a part of it when it comes to it being an NPP song," he stressed, clarifying that neither he nor Sarkodie intended the track to be politically charged at the outset.  Read Also: I Still Work with Lynx Entertainment - Kuami Eugene Clears the Air on Rumored Exit "The conversation was from a different direction and later it went towards that direction.
