The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Savelugu constituency, Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, has donated motorbikes and undisclosed amount of money to security services in the constituency.The Savelugu Municipal Police Command received five motorbikes and an undisclosed amount of money to fuel the bikes in order to maintain law and order in the area before, during and after the upcoming general election.Similarly, the NPP Member of Parliament hopeful has also donated three motorbikes and undisclosed cash amount to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the municipality to support their day-to-day operations.The NPP PC, during the handing over ceremony on Sunday (October 20, 2024) stated that the gesture was her little way to support the two institutions and gave an assurance of her commitment for future support."Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz as you all know, I am one of you [a policewoman] so I know the struggles we go through to perform our duties.

So, we're here to present to you these five motorbikes to aid in your movement around the constituency and its environs.

So please accept this, it is just the beginning" she asserted."I have a special place in my heart for Ghana Police Service because I was also serving and I am still serving in a different way, just that now I have decided to join the political family."She underscored the importance of peace before, during and after the December 7 elections and urged the police personnel to work diligently to ensure law and order in the constituency."We're going into the 2024 election and you know we need to monitor closely especially our young men because you know what people can do in elections.

So please, let's manage this for now to protect our constituency; Savelugu constituency is all we have, we're one family and I'm not saying we're going to fight but as you know safety precautions first" she admonished.The Municipal Chief Executive, Hajia Ayishetu Seidu, in her remarks described the intervention as unprecedented in the history of the municipality and further highly commended the NPP candidate for the novelty.
