The High Court has dismissed an application from Bernard Mornah, the flagbearer of the People's National Convention (PNC), who sought to overturn the Electoral Commission's (EC) decision to disqualify him from contesting in the upcoming presidential election.

The court's ruling, delivered on Monday, October 21, 2024, leaves Mornah with no legal recourse to challenge his disqualification, complicating the PNC's efforts as the December polls draw near.

Mornah's disqualification stemmed from issues related to his nomination forms, which the EC deemed problematic during the vetting process.

Specifically, the EC cited errors and inconsistencies in the documentation submitted by Mornah, leading to their decision on September 20 to exclude him from the presidential race alongside ten other candidates.
