The main suspect identified as Fatau Motorway, was at the violent altercation that broke out between supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on October 13 at Mamobi, Accra.Nine people were injured in the mayhem, and it is believed that Fatau Motorway, who was seen on tape brandishing a weapon, triggered the violent situation. The Police reaffirmed their call for the public to come forward with any information regarding the suspect's whereabouts in a statement that was made public today.
It would be recalled that a few weeks ago, a routine weekend political campaign walk at Mamobi in Accra on Sunday turned violent, leading to two people being shot and others sustaining injuries. The clash occurred between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), following what was initially intended to be a peaceful event.
The keep-fit walk, which both parties typically organise every weekend as part of their campaign activities, ended abruptly when a group of motorbike riders from one side encountered the supporters from the other side. The altercation reportedly began as a dispute over which group would pass through a particular area first but escalated into violence.
