Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has taunted the National Democratic Congress (NDC) following the supreme court order that stays the execution of the ruling of the speaker of Parliament declaring for seats vacant. He told the NDC MPs that if they want to form the Majority in Parliament, they should go to the election and win it."Just yesterday they had the 24-hour majority, the shortest-lived majority that I know of in history.
If you want the majority, come to the polling stations, the constituency, win an election and then go to parliament, you can't stay in parliament and manufacture majority for yourselves," Dr Bawumia said on Saturday October 19 during his campaign. The Supreme Court on Friday, October 18 directed Parliament to recognise and allow the four MPs to continue to serve as lawmakers until the case is determined.
This as after the Speaker had, on Thursday, October 17, declared four seats in Parliament vacant. The constituencies and the lawmakers are:1.
Cynthia Morrison, the current NPP MP for Agona West constituency in the Central Region, who has filed to run as an independent candidate.2.
