Gabby Asare Otchere Darko, a prominent member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Parliament to avoid chaos and anarchy during its session on Tuesday, October 22.  In a Facebook post on Sunday, October 20, Otchere Darko called for calm amidst the growing political tension in the House following the Speaker's ruling that declared four parliamentary seats vacant.

His comments come after the NDC caucus in Parliament threatened to occupy the Majority side, despite a Supreme Court ruling that stayed the Speaker's declaration.

The Speaker's decision had sparked a standoff between the two sides, with the Minority insisting they would take action during the upcoming parliamentary session.

The Supreme Court's ruling was issued Thursday, following an application for a stay of execution on the Speaker's decision.  The Court's intervention has temporarily halted the Speaker's declaration, preventing immediate changes to the composition of the House.
