A son of Ghana's first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, has asserted that his sister, , was manipulated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to take over the reins of the party founded by their father, the Convention People's Party (CPP). Speaking in an interview on JoyNews's PM Express, on August 6, 2024, Dr. indicated that Samia Nkrumah, a former Chairperson of the CPP, did not make much impact during her leadership of the party because she did not know its history and was manipulated.
