Ghana's head coach, Otto Addo, is holding onto the slimmest of hopes for the Black Stars to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The team is yet to secure a victory in the qualifying campaign and faces an uphill battle to secure a spot in the tournament in Morocco.Following a 2-0 defeat to Sudan in Libya on Tuesday, Ghana's chances are now hanging by a thread.
The Black Stars find themselves in a situation where they must win both of their remaining matches against Angola and Niger, while also needing Sudan to falter.Sudan, who are currently in a strong position, need just a single point from their final two matches to qualify, leaving little room for error on Ghana's part."Surely, we as Ghana, should qualify for the AFCON.
Yet, mathematically, there's still a chance and we will do everything, which is in our hands, to hold this chance alive," Addo shared in a recent statement. With the matches scheduled for November, the Black Stars will be under pressure to deliver on the pitch, as Ghana looks to avoid missing out on the prestigious tournament for the first time in over two decades.
