The Senior Staff Association of the Volta River Authority (VRA) has called on Parliament to reject some bills laid before the House regarding the energy sector.

Speaking to the media on the second day of their presence in Parliament to press home their demand, the Senior Staff Association of VRA, led by Theophilus Tetteh Ahia, said the bill, which among other things seeks to merge VRA and the Bui Power Authority, is detrimental to the Ghanaian public. "Our demands are very simple.

What we are saying is that the Volta River Authority is very efficient, reliable, and the power from the Volta River Authority's generation plant is the cheapest in the country.

Therefore, we are asking that the bills brought before Parliament should be rejected by the Honourable Members of this Parliament; that it is not going to inure to the benefit of the good people of this country," the Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of VRA said.
