The Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr.
Anthony Nsiah-Asare, has challenged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to name a single hospital that was started and completed under the John Mahama administration, apart from the Dodowa Hospital.
The NDC continues to tout its achievements in the health sector during Mahama's tenure, which ended in 2016, frequently mentioning that many health facilities were constructed under his administration.
The Mahama administration is often credited with building two brand new teaching hospitals: the 617-bed University of Ghana Teaching Hospital and the second phase of the Tamale Teaching Hospital Expansion Project, adding 400 beds to make it an 800-bed facility, following the initial 400-bed provision under the first phase of the project.
