The Speaker of has called on Members of (MPs) to balance their campaign efforts with their legislative responsibilities.
Speaking during the 5th meeting of the Fourth Session of on Tuesday, 15 October 2024, Speaker Bagbin emphasised the need for MPs to remain committed to their legislative duties despite the intense demands of the campaign season.
While acknowledging the challenges MPs face in securing or retaining their seats in the upcoming elections, Speaker Bagbin underscored the importance of not allowing electoral activities to overshadow critical national duties.
He reminded MPs that has a full legislative agenda that requires their attention in the weeks leading up to the elections. "The legislative agenda ahead is weighty, and we must approach it with the seriousness it demands," Bagbin stressed.
