The Krowor Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region, last Wednesday disbursed GH¢82, 500, and items valued GH¢43,000 to 38 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), who applied for assistance to improve their livelihood.
Of the number of the beneficiaries, 34 received varying amounts to cater for their health needs (GH¢5,000), education expenses (GH¢6, 000) and economic support (GH¢71,500).
The GH¢43,000 was used to procure chest freezers, electric sewing machines, water storage container, and fufu pounding machines for four beneficiaries.
The disbursement of the amount was done by the Krowor Municipal Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, under the three per cent allocation of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) to PWDs meant to empower them to become self-reliance.
