A Magistrate Court at Mampong in the Ashanti Region has sentenced 23-year-old Sumaila Abdul Rahman to 12 months in prison for stealing Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) meters.
Abdul Rahman was arraigned on October 14, 2024, four days after he was arrested.
State prosecutor Chief Inspector Richard Obeng Asare presented the prosecution case leading to his swift sentencing.
Additionally, a suspect, Priscilla Amofa is in custody at the Kumasi Central Police Station for illegally reconnecting water services, while her accomplice, Nana Adu, remains at large.
