The Christ Reminders New Church at Odorkor over the weekend presented assorted items worth GH¢10,000 to the Weija Leprosarium in Accra. The items include rice, gari, cooking oil, maize, toiletries roll, disinfectant, liquid soap, bottle water, sachet water and sugar. In addition, the church also presented an amount of GH¢2,000 to the inmates to assist in their upkeep. Presenting the items, a Senior Pastor of the church, Frederick Koi Apraku, said the church as part of its 50th anniversary celebration decided to support inmates of the Weija Leprosarium. He said the church was touched by the appeal made by Reverend Father Andrew Campbell and other religious organisations to come to the aid of the Leprosarium, since the government alone could not cater for them.
