On the August 6, 2024, episode of Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt, made a comparison between the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, and the late statesman JB Danquah, who was the Eastern Regional chairman of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC). Speaking during a panel discussion, Pratt explained that JB Danquah was a former Eastern Regional chairman of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC), while Wontumi is the current Ashanti Regional chairman of the NPP. He highlighted the similarities in their roles and traits. "I have said before that JB Danquah is like Chairman Wontumi. The context is, if you look at JB Danquah's official designation, he was the chairman of the Eastern Region, and if you look at Wontumi's official designation, he is the chairman of the Ashanti Region. So, in terms of the official hierarchies, they are comparable," he said.
