Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O Kanayo has called out men who are irresponsible in providing for their families.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the 62-year-old actor emphasised that men who fail to provide financially for their families "have no right to intimacy." Kanayo stressed that financial responsibility is a vital aspect of marriage, highlighting that men are expected to care for their households through hard work, in line with sacred teachings.
He made the argument that the responsibility of men in marriage is not only a societal expectation but also a moral one with its roots from the bible.
The actor cautioned women against encouraging partners to be financially irresponsible, saying that doing so could lead to males becoming more "lazy and irresponsible." Kanayo advised young ladies to exercise caution while selecting life partners, stressing the importance of picking men who are aware of their responsibilities.
