Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Former President John Dramani Mahama has said the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) should be sent into opposition due to the way and manner the economy has been handled especially the local currency.
He observed that the Cedi continues to lose its value against the major international currencies, especially the Dollar.
Speaking in Funsi of the Wa East constituency in the Upper West Region on Sunday where he has been campaigning since Saturday, Mr Mahama said "Recently I saw the minister responsible for finance say they have successfully entered back into the capital market, that was a lie. "What has happened is we have now finished the debt restructuring and now start paying our restructured debts.
During the negotiations of the debt restructuring, Ghana was given a moratorium from paying debts.
