Attendants at a Goil filling station in Atimpoku, a community in the Eastern Region, appear to have found themselves in trouble after journalist Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah exposed what seems to be a fuel pump tampering scam at the station.

The journalist accused the attendants of tampering with the fuel pump in such a way that the amount actually dispensed to customers is far less than what they paid for, despite the displayed figure on the fuel dispenser.

To prove his claim, Okatakyie asked one of the attendants to pump 10 litres of fuel into a regulated container.

After the fuel was dispensed, he examined the container and claimed that the 10 litres should have filled it to a certain point, but the amount dispensed was significantly lower. "If you buy 10 litres of fuel, this is where it should get to.
