Social justice advocate and Democracy Hub frontrunner, Felicity Nelson, has revealed the harrowing experience she endured following her arrest during an anti-galamsey protest.

The demonstration, which was intended to draw attention to the government's handling of illegal mining, resulted in the detention of over 50 protestors, including Felicity, whose phone was confiscated for 10 days.

Recalling the chaotic day on Newsfile monitored by MyNewsGH.com, Felicity explained how her phone was forcefully taken while she was live-streaming the protest on social media. "I was trying to broadcast what was happening live so people could see the level of police brutality we were facing," she said, her voice marked with frustration. "All of a sudden, an officer grabbed my phone and just took it.

I had no idea why I was being arrested." Felicity, like many other demonstrators, was arrested without immediate explanation.
