The Chiefs of Builsa South have called on the (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, to tackle the issue of high unemployment if he wins the 2024 General Elections. Addressing the flagbearer of the NDC and his team in Fumbisi, the Doninga Chief, Nab Atabnueong Adiila Akanbeanab Akanbong, highlighted the need for employment for their people.
"Unemployment in the district is well above the national average of 14%. The majority of our sons and daughters are unable to find jobs, even after tertiary education, thereby compelling them to migrate to the south of the country and other countries in search of jobs. This state of affairs does not bode well for our communities, nor our country. In that regard, any policy by any government that seeks to address the current unemployment situation among our youth is a step in the right direction.
"Accordingly, we, the chiefs and queen mothers of the Builsa South District, fully endorse your flagship program of a 24-hour economy as a panacea to the growing unemployment situation in our district in particular and Ghana as a whole," the chief stated.
