The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region, , has criticized the for losing touch with political realities, claiming the party can no longer rally traditional political support and has instead turned to spiritual gatherings.
Addressing a charged crowd at Asiakwa during the New Patriotic Party running mate's tour of the constituency, Mr Atta Akyea dismissed recent prophecies from religious figures predicting an NDC victory, calling them mere human predictions rather than divine declarations.
He urged Ghanaians not to place too much importance on such prophecies, reminding them that elections are decided by the will of the people through the ballot box, not through spiritual proclamations. "Elections are determined by the people's votes, not by the words of prophets," he said.
He emphasized that political discourse should centre on the issues most important to Ghanaians-such as the economy, education, and infrastructure-urging political parties to focus on substantive plans for the country's future rather than relying on spiritual interventions.
