Labour Consultant, Austin Gamey, has indicated that organised labour failed Ghanaians to call off their planned strike over illegal small-scale mining (Galamsey) menace.

He indicated that Organized labour was the only potent force left to have compelled President Akufo-Addo to take steps against galamsey but they have disappointed Ghanaians.

Speaking on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday October 12, he said "Organized labour has failed us.

They must apologize to themselves and all of us for suspending the intended strike." He stressed, "I felt disappointed and I expressed my revulsion about this matter." The decision by organised labour to suspended its strike on October 10 was taken after they expressed satisfaction with government's measures rolled out so far to address the galamsey menace.
