Former Convention People's Party (CPP) General Secretary, Nana Yaa Jantuah has urged people who are blaming John Mahama for illegal mining to stop.

She believes that the President, who is legally entitled to all of the nation's mineral riches, should be held accountable for the threat known as "galamsey." According to Nana Yaa Jantuah, it surprises her that people continue to hold the former President responsible for the problems in the mining industry, even though the constitution makes this explicit.

She said that the President has to bear full responsibility for the chaos the practice is causing since he is in charge of the nation's resources. "There is one crucial detail that is often overlooked while discussing galamsey.

They ought to study Article 268 of the Constitution, which states that the President of Ghana is the only owner of all mineral resources.
