UTAG interested in strike because they want academic year to begin in January – NPP MP

Member of Parliament for Akyem Swedru, Kennedy Osei Nyarko is of the view that members of the University Teachers Association (UTAG) voted massively for the strike action not because they care about the country and the fight against illegal mining.

Rather, they are in favour of the academic year starting in January hence their strong stance on the call for a strike.

In a Facebook post, he could not fathom the fuss about the strike.

UTAG's NEC has voted that they strike to drum home the need to end illegal mining in Ghana.
