The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Tuesday inspected ongoing works at the Science Technology Education Mathematics (STEM) Academy in Accra.
The STEM Academy being the first of its kind in the country is about 85 per cent complete and would admit pupils from kindergarten to senior high school, the first of its kind in the country.
Accompanying the Vice President for the inspection were the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West, Ms Lydia Syram Alhassan and the Director General for the Ghana TVET Service, Mr David Prah, • Dr Bawumia receiving cheers from some people as he tours the project site with Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum The Managing Director for Jamic Construction Works and contractors to the project, Mr James Manu Donkor, conducted Dr Bawumia and his entourage round the completed auditorium, library and canteen of the academy.
He disclosed that the only works ongoing on the facility was the laying of floor tiles and the fixing of sliding windows, curtain walls as well as the completion of the science laboratories and the installation of an elevator.
