Lecturers from the University of Ghana (UG) who are supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have criticized President Akufo-Addo's government for its perceived inaction on illegal mining (galamsey).

The lecturers, who took to the streets of Atomic on Tuesday, October 8, to rally support for NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama ahead of the 2024 general election, emphasized their concerns about the growing galamsey menace.

Prof.

Michael Kpessa-Whyte, a prominent academic leading the campaign, argued that teaching in lecture halls is no longer sufficient.
