The National Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) holds the strong view that the decision of Organized Labour to embark on a nationwide strike action feeds into a larger political strategy of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
A statement from the NPP Youth Wing indicates that they have stumbled upon a document that suggests that the NDC intends to use groups such as organized Labour to destabilize the government going into the 2024 elections.
Therefore, the decision of Organized labour to embark on its intended strike action regardless of meeting the President and government's communique suggests they are in to weaken the government two months before the election and do not represent the interests of the Ghanaian people.
The New Patriotic Party's Youth wing used the opportunity to call on well-meaning Ghanaians to reject attempts by the leadership of organized labour to politicise the fight against illegal mining in the country.
