The Member of Parliament(MP) for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has urged Organized Labour to continue with their strike slated on October 11, 2024.

During an interview on Okay FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Sam George disclosed that the government has recently issued about 13 new licenses to miners to mine in the forest reserves amid threats from Organized Labour to stage a strike. "It's very important that Organized Labor fights for our water bodies.

On the day the president was having a meeting with the Organized Labour, he asked them to slow down and reconsider the strike, his government issued about 13 new licenses to miners to mine in the forest reserves." He claimed.

Sam George further added that the fight against galamsey is not being treated as an urgent issue because of the greed of some leaders. "The President doesn't take us seriously on galamsey fight.
