Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, the Ranking Member of Parliament's Select Committee on Environment, Science, and Technology, has revealed his intention to raise the ongoing issue of illegal mining, popularly referred to as galamsey, during Parliament's next sitting on, October 15, 2024.
Speaking in an interview on Citi News on October 7, 2024, Terlabi stated "When Parliament reconvenes, I plan to bring the issue of illegal mining to the floor.
I will ensure that those responsible are made to explain why such a major issue is being neglected, the entire country is rallying against galamsey, yet this government remains silent.
It seems their only focus is winning elections, which is unacceptable," citinewsroom.com quoted him to have said.
