Some members of Organised Labour from the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) and other groups say they were not consulted by their leadership before the declaration was made.

A faction calling itself "Concerned Members of Organised Labour" insists that though it is against illegal mining activities, the approach used by the leadership to announce the strike was not proper.

The group is therefore urging the leadership of Organised Labour to suspend plans for the nationwide strike and further dialogue with the government.
