The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, in collaboration with the Conference of Major Superiors of Religious-Ghana (CMSR-GH), has announced an Environmental Prayer Walk Against Galamsey, scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2024.
The event will commence at 10 a.m.
from the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Adabraka, and conclude at Christ the King Parish, Cantonment.
This initiative aims to demonstrate the Church's commitment to addressing the environmental degradation caused by illegal mining activities, known locally as "galamsey." The walk will feature the recitation of the Rosary, symbolising the Church's spiritual battle against environmental destruction.
