Catholic priests in Accra will be holding a prayer walk against illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, on October 11, 2024.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10 am, starting from the Cathedral and concluding at Christ the King Parish.

This prayer walk is part of a larger effort to raise awareness about the destructive impact of galamsey on the country's water bodies and forest reserves.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra will be leading the initiative, rallying Ghanaians from all walks of life to unite in prayer and action to combat this environmental crisis.
