Private Legal Practitioner, Samsom Lardy Anyenini has descended on the Ghana Police Service, the Attorney General and the Judiciary for breaking the law by using bail as punishment for the anti-galamsey demonstrators.
While sharing his opinion on NewsFile on the "fight on galamsey", Samson Lardy stated that the Attorney General has used bail against the protesters by refusing them bail after 48 hours according to Article 14 of the constitution.
He mentioned that the police should have processed the Democracy Hub demonstrators bail immediately after they were arrested but went against the law by detaining them for 14 days with the excuse that none of these protesters gave details of their home addresses. "The police could have processed them for bail immediately after they were arrested but didn't do so.
They are claiming that all these protesters didn't give their home addresses.
