North Tongu Member of Parliament (MP), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has expressed concerns over the National Cathedral project, calling on the National Cathedral Secretariat to release the full 2020 audit report.

Speaking on TV3's The Key Points on Saturday, October 5 monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Ablakwa stated that no one has seen the report, despite claims from the Secretariat that it cleared the project of any adverse findings. "If they believe they have been cleared, that no adverse findings have been made against them, then they should publish the full report," Ablakwa demanded.

He accused the Secretariat of providing only an interpretation of the report, without making the actual document available for public scrutiny.

The National Cathedral project has been shrouded in controversy over its funding, with Ablakwa pointing out that a staggering $58.1 million of taxpayers' money has already been funnelled into it. "This is just taxes," he emphasized, adding that this figure does not account for the significant donations received from around the world, including a $3.5 million donation.
