Protesters at the anti-galamsey demonstration held on Thursday, October 3, have called for greater participation in the next two days of protests, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5, 2024.

The three-day protest, organized by concerned citizens, aims to demand decisive action against illegal mining activities (galamsey) that are destroying water bodies and lands.

Additionally, protesters are advocating for the release of Democracy Hub activists who were remanded into prison and police custody following a similar protest from September 21-23.

Thursday's protest began at Okponglo and concluded at the Accra Sports Stadium car park, with hundreds of young people participating.
