However, he was clear that this platform must also focus on higher goals: "The pulpit is not used to promote a personal agenda; the pulpit is used to promote a divine agenda." He also stressed the need for church leaders to confront social issues like corruption when necessary. "If the lesson you are dealing with is supposed to speak against corruption, you don't shy away from it.
